R-134a. Most conversion kits include a few ounces of ester oil to add on top of the existing PAG oil that is in the system. While this seems to work ok for most folks, you end up with too much oil in the system, most of which is incompatible with R-134a. Too much oil reduces system efficiency
The absolute best way to convert a system is to flush the entire system clean and add the appropriate amount of ester oil back in. Otherwise you don't have any idea how much oil or what type of oil is in the system from whatever hack mechanics have worked on it in the past.
